Volunteer

Volunteers are key to a successful therapeutic riding program, and it is a rewarding job!  As a volunteer you get to help those in need plus be around horses.  TSTRC is always looking for new volunteers and you can join the team at any time- No horse experience required!

Adam2You’d be a great volunteer if you:

  • Love helping others
  • Keep a positive attitude
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Able to commit to 2 hrs per week at a set time for an entire session.
  • Able to work as a team

There is a job for everyone from feeding horses, to assisting in lessons, to public relations work.

Junior Volunteers:  Ages 10-12: Junior volunteers do not work directly in the riding lessons, but assist in other areas throughout the barn.

Lesson Volunteers: Ages 13 and up:  Assist in lessons with leading horses, sidewalking with students, office work, barn chores, etc.

Jobs include:vols

Leading horses (those with horse experience only)
Grooming and tacking horses
Sidewalking with riders
Getting equipment out and putting it away
Maintaining barn and equipment
Assist with special events, shows and work days
Miscellaneous tasks

Work Days

Tri-State welcomes organizations, camps, school groups, corporations to come in and participate in a work day around the barn.

We are currently looking to cover these volunteer jobs:

  • Lesson volunteers- leaders and sidewalkers
  • Feeding/Stable Management
  • Fundraising/Public Relations
