Mission Statement:
To provide the opportunity for physical and emotional healing, equestrian education and the fulfillment of individual dreams in a structured therapeutic riding environment for mentally, physically and emotionally challengedindividuals of all ages.
History

TSTRC was formed by combining the Reinbow Riders program and the Chattanooga Therapeutic Riding Center in 2004. The same year the program relocated to the Tri-State Exhibition Center which is now home to over 50 riders throughout the Cleveland and Chattanooga area. Tri-State continues to grow and find new ways to serve individuals with the help of the horse! Tri-State follows the North American Riding for the Handicapped Standards and all lessons are taught by NARHA certified instructors. The following are some of the programs offered by Tri-State:
- Therapeutic Horseback Riding
- Interactive Vaulting
- Special Olympic Participation
- Ground Lessons
- Competition opportunities throughout the state.
How Does it Help?

Individuals that participate in therapeutic horseback riding gain physical and emotional benefits from challenging and stimulating equestrian activities.
Riders improve balance, muscle strength, coordination, self-esteem and concentration. Some of the disabilities served at Tri-State are, but not limited to:
- Autism and related disorders
- Learning Disabilities
- Vision, Speech and hearing impairments
- Down Syndrome
- Mental Retardation
- Cerebral Palsy
- Mental Disorders such as depression, anxiety, etc.
Our Riders
All riders at Tri-State have a diagnosed disability and have physicians approval before riding. Riders, instructors and volunteers work together to achieve individual goals.
To become a ride at Tri-State please fill out our Rider Registration Packet and send to Tri-State via e-mail, fax, or mail. All liability releases and physicians forms are due at the first lesson.
